Food Allergy Elimination--Beyond Peanuts

Picture

Colorado food allergy elimination for individuals in Denver and surrounding locations is offered through Biophilia. While traditional medicine treats diseases with symptom management, nutrition therapy addresses the underlying causes, reducing or eliminating symptoms permanently. Many individuals ask about the difference between allergies and food sensitivities and are surprised when traditional testing methods do not reveal evidence of allergies. It's possible and very common to have severe responses and sensitivities to foods without evidence on a blood, stool, or saliva test.

Food allergies involve an allergic reaction, usually occurring immediately after exposure to food allergens, but the symptom may also take up to 72 hours to present itself. Sometimes these reactions are mild to moderate, but they can be severe enough to be life-threatening. Allergic activity is the body's reaction to a substance, usually a protein, when it incorrectly starts an immune response (IgA, IgE, IgG). When a food is ingested, a local response in the tissue of the gut triggers GALT (Gut-Associated-Lymphoid Tissue). This activation can be a result of many factors ranging from the use of antibiotics, viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, elevated insulin, stress, alcohol, caffeine, smoking, low stomach acid and more. GALT activation up-regulates inflammation in the body and can cause a range of symptoms.
Conditions and symptoms often seen in adults with food allergies include:

  • Arthritis
  • Aches and pains
  • Acid reflux
  • Addictions
  • Brain fog
  • Chron's disease
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Migraines

  • Hypothyroidism
  • Impotence
  • Infertility
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Mental confusion

No diet fits for any one person, yet Kate finds that the closer one adheres to the principles of a genetically-basted traditional diet, the healthier he or she becomes. Kate finds foods that create gut sensitivities and allergic responses throughout the entire body. Since the digestive system is a major immune system organ, estimating 70% of your immune system in your gut, it's vital to restore gut health by removing any foods that may be an irritant to the tissue. The most effective way to identify food allergies and intolerances, or hypersensitivities is to temporarily restrict them from the diet. If done properly elimination can show observable improvements in mood, cognitive performance, energy levels, physical symptoms and general well being in one to four weeks.

Restoration of any healthy gastrointestinal function and ecology is essential to the management of virtually all health problems. Almost every chronic illness or disease has some relation to or basis in gut physiology. In supporting the regeneration of the gut, Kate reduces stress-induced -over-stimulation of the nervous system, reduces toxic chemical exposure, and dietary implications that are in a large part causing severe inflammation. Treatment protocols differ depending on the length of the illness, the persons' ability to restructure their lifestyles, and their commitment to their remedies and nutritional recommendations. Schedule an appoint with Kate today if you're experiencing any of the above symptoms listed.
